I remembered I once heard Homies, the Taiwanese hip hop group before and saw some of the members on TV a couple of times, but honestly I would say the one that gave me more impression would be J-Luv as he appeared more on TV shows and Channel V. Besides the 4 main members of Homies, well-known Taiwan TV host, Blackie Chen and singer Wilber Pan are also considered as one of the Homies as they hang out a lot with the group.

Homies released their first single Jones Cup back in year 2000 where the title comes from the biggest basketball annual tournament in Taiwan. Needless to say, the name of the group – Homies is related to what their interests too – basketball and music. As what we’re told, the group came across the name 'Homies' where the group members knew each other since middle school and shared the same passion in basketball and music, even though all of them came from different backgrounds.

So, this is when BB were told that Homies is coming to town for Hennessy Artistry, straight away we decide to contact them for a feature interview on BB so that we can know more about them! Well, you might not heard of them, but after meeting them and saw their performances, BB think they are very down to earth and passion in what they’re doing. Check out each of the members’ basic profile and introduction below and BB’s interview with Babyboi below:


Babyboi, JLuv’s first and the best homeboy from L.A., started out as an underground rapper and was the champion of a rapping contest in 626. He then came back Taiwan adding more west coast flavor to their music. Babyboi once appeared on Channel V as special VJ/guest and also tour with Homies to the hottest club in China, Singapore, Taiwan and all around Asia.

Jason (JLuv), the ex-VJ for Channel V currently appearing on various TV shows, parties and events host. His unique personality got him most of the invitations to most of the TV shows, NIKE contract spokesman and even make him well recognize in Chinese entertainment both in Taiwan and China.

Birth date: 17th November 1978



Blake who was once a restaurant lounge singer now become an underground MC, actor who acts in few Taiwanese dramas and also a music producer that works with many Taiwan big artists such as F4 member Jerry Yan, Cyndi Wang, Eddie Peng and many more. Blake also played professional basketball in Taiwan.

Birth date: 5th October 1976



Beside his music experiences in Homies, KY is also one of the actors who act in various Taiwan soap operas, dramas and even films and manage to become one of the funniest comedians in Taiwan’s theatre. Surprisingly, KY is also experienced in martial arts like judo, Shaolin boxing and even won few gold medals during championships and tournaments.

DJ Gin who tour with Homies to Hennessy Artistry in Malaysia, is a well-known DJ in Taiwan. Having experiences since 2001, DJ Gin spins at most of the biggest music festival and countdown concerts in Taiwan such as Spring Scream, MTV Okinawa New Things, Asia Street Party Live Concert etc, and was the party DJ of US famous singers like Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, Florida, Lumidee when they came to Taipei. Besides that, DJ Gin also released and involved with two album works in the year 2001 and 2004.

Biatch Bible's Interview with Babyboi, Homies representative.
BB: Have you guys achieved what you set out to achieve back when you first started out?
H: Definitly, just being on stage performing is a milestone that all artists ever could dream of and to share their love and passion especially their music. And we always give everything we got and deliver the best music quality and performances!

BB: Music inspiration?
H: We listen to all type and genres of music. As for artists that we inspire are Tupac, B.I.G, Lil Wayne and many others!

BB: Have you been to Malaysia before this Artistry Tour? How’s the trip?
H: This is actually our first time as a group to KL! We loved everything started from the organizer till the performance and most important very thankful and grateful the incredible audiences at the Artistry event! And we want to thank Nisha, Michelle, Jason, Griselle, Paul and especially the Man that started this event!

BB: Do you guys think hip hop music is sliding down in the music industry?
H: Music itself is never gonna be sliding down and like all things there’re ups and down in life. As for hip hop music, it’s getting more and more listeners plus people who have the passion and ideas to take it to another level are stepping out to share their music.

BB: What's the first impression Homies gave to audiences/strangers?
H: Well we think that the first impression we give to the audiences and strangers are “Strangers”.

BB: Honestly, who's the most popular among girls?
H: Honestly, Jluv is the most popular among girls and guys

BB: Any debut plan for Homies?
H: Yes, we’re working night and day griding through the release of our newest songs! But as for when the date hasn’t been determined yet!

BB: What comes into your mind for the word "Biatch Bible".
H: Freedom

BB: Say something to those who yet to know Homies.
H: For those who don’t know us and never even heard of us, maybe will never like us or listen to our music at all or even like “Who? Homies?” Plus the people who know about us, like or dislike Homies and our music “WE LOVE YALL!”
